XIM4 Hardware Compatibility

!ATTENTION! Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 Slim/PRO users: New XIM4s require a firmware upgrade to support the latest Slim/PRO console controllers.

Below is a list of compatible XIM4 hardware including controllers, smart phones, PCs, headsets, mice, keyboards, and other USB input devices. Please notify us of hardware compatibility (working and not working) so we can keep the list current.

XIM4 requires your console's Controller to work: XIM4 needs your console controller plugged into it at all times in its rear USB port (#3) to function. The following console controllers are supported (check compatibility issues below):

Xbox OneOfficial wireless Xbox One controller connected with a micro-USB cable.
IMPORTANT: New Xbox One S controller requires latest firmware.
Playstation 4Official wireless Playstation 4 DualShock 4 controller connected with a micro-USB cable
IMPORTANT: New PlayStation 4 Slim/Pro controller requires latest firmware.
Xbox 360Official wired Xbox 360 controller (wireless with play-and-charge kit not supported)
Playstation 3Official wireless Playstation 3 DualShock 3 controller connected with a mini-USB cable

XIM4 Manager supported Platforms: XIM4 Manager configuration companion app is available on the following platforms (check compatibility issues below):

iOSiOS 8 or higher devices (iPhone 4s and iPad 3rd-gen and above)
     AndroidGingerbread 2.3.3 or later
PCWindows 10, 8.1, 8, and 7 with Bluetooth v2.1 adapter using stock Windows Bluetooth drivers

XIM4 and Wired Headsets: XIM4 supports the following wired headset configurations:

Xbox OneWired headsets supported (Mono and Stereo) through the Xbox One controller
Playstation 4Unsupported, a USB audio adapter connected directly to Playstation 4 required
Xbox 360Wired headsets supported through the Xbox 360 controller
     Playstation 3Unsupported

The following peripherals list assumes you are running the latest firmware.

Below is a list of USB hardware that users have reported to be working (and not working). All USB input devices are designed around a standard interface. Meaning, if your hardware isn't on this list, it doesn't mean it won't work. It just hasn't been tried. However, hardware will sometimes diverge from the standard or require custom drivers to fully function. Those cases will be addressed in future firmware releases, where possible.

PREFERRED USB PORTS: If your mouse or keyboard isn’t being identified correctly, it may be because your device is describing itself to your XIM4 in a way it doesn’t understand. In this case, try plugging your device into its “preferred port”:

Port #1: Mouse
Port #2: Keyboard/Joystick
Port #3: Controller

RECHARGABLE DEVICES: Some devices can be run in either wired or wireless mode. When in wired mode, the device also recharges. Please be aware that your XIM4 may not be able to source the power required to charge these devices. When plugged in, they may be non-functional or the XIM4 may be shut down.
